The two images above were scanned to JPEG from the same Ektachrome 35mm slide at 4000 dpi, the one at the left without ICE dust and scratch removal, the one at the right with ICE. Note the dust speckling in the sky of the image without ICE.

The images below were scanned from the same slide (section outlined in red above) at various settings. The ONLY post processing done was to scale the 2000 dpi images by 2X to allow easier comparison.

Notice the very slight softening of the image by hardware ICE processing. Considering the effectiveness of this processing (see the sky area), this minute reduction in detail is almost always worthwhile.

No examples are provided of TIFF because the loss of quality compared to JPEG with minimal compression is not worth the >12X increase in file size and is not recommended.
